Will my phone work?

Recording needs a 0.5× ultrawide camera: from your forehead it sees both hands and the whole table. Most newer phones have one.

The exact name is in Settings → About phone.

iPhone
The model decides. “iPhone 11 and newer” is nearly right, but the iPhone SE (2nd and 3rd generation), the 16e and the Air have no wide camera.
Android
One model name can cover versions with and without it, so our checker app gives the final answer. Get the app →

Android? Our 1-minute checker app gives the final answer.

The same model name can be an older or different version without the 0.5× camera, so for Android the app decides: it tests your actual camera.

  1. 1

Download and open it. If Android asks, tap Settings → Allow from this source.

  2. 2

Open Ego Phone Check. It checks your camera on its own.

  3. 3

Green means your phone can record, so apply. Red means it can't: no 0.5× wide camera.

It only checks the camera: no sign-in, and it collects nothing. After you apply, you confirm your result in your portal too.

iPhones don't need it: they're decided by model, so search above.

Or look at the camera yourself.

Thirty seconds, on any phone. If the camera offers 0.5×, it almost certainly has the wide lens the work needs.

  1. 1Open your camera app on photo, with the back camera.
  2. 2Look just above the shutter button for the zoom buttons.
  3. 3Is there a 0.5× (or .5)? Tap it: the picture zooms out and shows much more.

Did you find 0.5×?
